Day 38 in Minnesota

Another day here in Minnesota. It is still beautiful here, but they tell us it will start getting cold tomorrow. They expect rain on Monday. Oh my.

Mom is doing extremely well. She is now wearing street clothes and lipstick. Wow!! Yesterday we went on a 30 minutes walk outside, to a park located next to the Charter House. We saw many squirrels and even a woodchuck. We had no idea what it was but a stranger saw us staring at this rodent and he kindly informed us that it was a woodchuck. We never saw one before. What a couple of country hicks. Hahaha.

We think that mom will be discharged from this place on Sunday. She still has the ecoli infection so we have to wait and see. Keep your prayers going and maybe she can enjoy next week in a hotel room instead.

I gotta run now. Mom needs to go on another walk. Until next time, thanks for everything and God bless you all.

  1. Aloha Jessie and Mel. Sorry to hear about the infection and happy to hear it was caught there and not after you all were heading home to Kauai. I never saw a woodchuck or even heard about that animal, I believe I'd probably react the same way both of you did - that is stare and everyone would see a ? on my face.. We pray that you mom will be discharged soon. We can only imagine how tiring the recovery process must be in addition to the whole procedure. It's been a long journey for all of you, BUT the Lord has blessed all of you. We continue to pray for healing, peace and your safe return home. We miss you guys. Mahalo for keeping us informed and allowing us to share in this personal journey. Lauren sends her aloha too. Camellia & Ohana

  2. Hi there Jessie, thought of you when I got up early this morning. How was your weekend? Hope you were able to be released from the hospital on Sunday. I see your transition to the hotel as another adventure away from home; but what do I know. Perhaps when you feel up to it, you can share your experience with us. Lauren sends her love, spoke with her last night she continues to pray for you. She doesn't own a computer so she sends her regards through me. We're all prayng for your speedy recovery and NO we haven't forgotten you. Take care of yourself. Lauren, Camellia & Ohana
